Congress MP, MLAs detained before Modi’s visit to Dahod

A Congress MP and four MLAs trying to stage demonstration ahead of the the Gujarat Day celebration function to be presided over by the state Chief Minister Narendra Modi were detained by police.

The Congress MP from Dahod Prabha Taviyad, and four party MLA’s Vaju Panda, Bacchu Kishori, Chandrika Bariya, Dita Macchar were detained by the police when they were trying to demonstrate near the venue, a member of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee said. The police also detained over 200 members of an NGO, Akhil Gujarat Netraheen Jagrut Sangh, who also were trying to demonstrate to highlight the problems faced by the differently-abled people in the state.
