Ahmedabad, 15 May 2012
The question whether Modi will go to Delhi is fow now replaced with whether Modi will go to Mumbai.
BJP national executive meeting is scheduled to be held on May 24-25 in Mumbai, and the selective words of Gujarat BJP President RC Faldu while speaking to ‘Indian Express’ hints that Modi may skip the Mumbai meet.
According to Indian Express report, Gujarat BJP President RC Faldu said it was not necessary for the CMs to take part in such meetings.
“It is not necessary for CMs to attend these kind of meetings if they have other engagements,” Faldu said, adding that he and Parshottam Rupala who is the national vice President of the BJP will go to Mumbai.
It should be noted here that shri Narendra Modi stayed away from the national executive meeting of the BJP in September last year. The party in its official version of statement said that Modi skipped the meeting due to his Navratri fasts. However his absence was largely attributed to rift with party’s national president Nitin Gadkari.
The BJP in its Mumbai meet is likely to discuss the issue of amending the party constitution to allow a second term for Gadkari.
Whether Modi joins the BJP national executive meet or not will be clear in few days from now.
