Ahmedabad, 6 July 2012
“Are the tigers communal and lions secular?” Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi raised the question in a wild life photography book launch function in Ahmedabad on Friday.
“Central government has special feeling for tigers, and Rs 200 crore are allocated for tigers, but similar treatment is not given to lions,” Shri Modi said.
“Are tigers secular and lions communal,” he raised question which attracted immediate applause with laughter in the audience present in the hall.
“If centre had taken equal approach for lion and tiger, it could be a great contribution in the area of tourism for the state, but only one angle it seems has played a role, communal and secular,” Modi said.
Launching a book by veteran wild life photographer Sanat Shodhan in Ahmedabad, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat government has given camera to foresters working in Gir jungle.
“this small initiative will throw more light over the wild life of Sasan Gir,” he added.

Since tigers are in minority Congress is trying to appease them.
whatever spoken by Narendrabhai may not be totally misplaced remark. However keeping it aside, the facts remains that for faster recovery of the Indian Economy, Prim Minister needs to take apolitical approach while initiating measures he has been promising since his oath taking ceremony or say right at the time of campaign in election to vote him to power.
Apolitical approach will result in to optimum results of the funds spent by the central government. It is time for the UPA government and its partners and supporters to remove that colored glass from their eyes. Else people in general and minorities in particular know the tricks of politicians and will contribute in throwing them out.

Tiger National animal hai, itana to inhe pata bhi shayad nahi hoga.pata nahi ye harek bar communal bate hi knyo karate hai..
Sheikh sahab! Agree that Tiger is a national animal. But with the same yardstick Hockey is our national game too. We cant use that principal to criticise NaMo. He is clearly highlighting that both Tger and Lion needs equal determination and upkeep. Then why be selective in prioritising more reserves for Tigers and less for Lions. Central government does exactly the same.
