Gandhinagar, 19 August 2012
Describing leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil’s statement on gas allocation as blatant lie, Gujarat minister of state Shri Saurabh Patel today said that the Gujarat High Court has clearly given a verdict to supply gas to Gujarat on same price as Delhi and Mumbai, but Congress-led UPA government in centre has not implemented the court order. Why Congress leaders are silent on this?
“If gas produced in the country is supplied to Gujarat on same rates as Mumbai and Delhi for transportation, the Government of Gujarat is ready to provide gas to people of Gujarat on 30% lesser price.,” the minister said adding that the Congress led central government is taking revenge with the people of Gujarat because people here have thrown away Congress party from power.
“The central government should implement the high court verdict that said Gujarat should be supplied gas on rate at par with Delhi and Mumbai. If central govt is planning to challenge the Gujarat High Court order in Supreme Court, such move should be prevented,” the minister further said.
Saurabh Patel said that Gujarat is the only state possessing gas transportation network. Gujarat’s prestigious company GSPC has initiated 2200 km gas greed task connecting cities and villages, but instead of welcoming Gujarat’s gas-greed initiative, the central government has stopped it and has taken Gujarat’s interests in hostage for political reasons.
