Probe begins on land scam involving Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal

According to a Daninik Jagran report, probe has been initiated against Gujarat governor Dr. Kamla Beniwal in alleged land scam issue.
The report says, “Central Home ministry’s Centre State Division has sought details on the land scam from Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies(Jaipur).”
The report states that one Sanjay Kishor has filed petition in this regard in lower court in Jaipur against Kamla Beniwal accusing her of committing criminal offense.
In 1953 the government had allotted 218 acre land to Rajendrasinh and others for cooperative farming. In 1978 after completion of 25 years period, the original members of Krishi Sahkari Samiti were sidelined and others took over the land. Other accused and Kamla Beniwal claimed the government land and produced a fake meeting report. Other accused and Kamla received seven-seven plots.
