Gandhinagar to get India’s third Air Force Selection Board

Gujarat’s Gandhinagar will get the third Air Force Selection Board in India on 8th October.
In continuation of old customs & traditions of Indian Air Force the HQ South Western Air Command at Gandhinagar will be celebrating the 80th Air Force Day.
The week long activities will include the felicitation of ‘Veer Nari’ at a social get together planned on 04th Oct at HQ SWAC, IAF.
The widows of Air Warriors will be honored by Air Marshal AK Gogoi, AOC-in-C, HQ SWAC and Mrs Leena Gogoi, President AFWAA (Regional).
Celebrations at SNCOs’ Mess & Bara Khana at Airmen Mess are planned on 05th & 07th Oct respectively.
On 08th Oct the Air Warriors will be administered the oath by AOC-in-C as per the tradition of the IAF in the morning.
In the evening there will be inauguration of No. 3 Air Force Selection Board by Her Excellence, The Governor of Gujarat, Shrimati Kamla.
The culmination of the week long celebrations will be at AF Officers’ Mess, Chiloda in the form of a social evening. All Retired Officers and Air Warriors are cordially invited for the above functions.
