Survey of slums/kachcha houses to be completed next month

The documentation work for conversion of slums into pucca houses will be completed by 31 March, 2013 in Gujarat This was decided by Panchayat minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama in a meeting of district development officers and directors of gram vikas agency. The first phase survey will cover those slums or kachcha houses that are not covered by any scheme.
According to an official announcement after the meeting, 255 villages will be included in Rurban scheme in the first phase and all tasks will be completed in these villages by the end of year 2013-14.
The Rurban scheme is planned for all villages that have 10,000 plus population. In tribal areas, villages with population of more than 7,000 will also be covered.
