40 AC buses planned for Surat BRTS

Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC)’s TSC committee on Thursday took decision on tendering of 40 Air conditioned buses for Surat BRTS project.
The committee has recommended to give order to Prasanna Pearl Mobility Private Limited at Rs 54.90 per km rate.
The SMC will launch BRTS service in two phases with twenty buses in each phase. Each bus will be capable to board 100 passengers(including standing). All buses will be 12 meter long and as per the Euro-4 standard. The buses will be needed to operate within 90 days of issuing a work order.
The AC buses will be operated initially on Udhana Darwaja to Sachin railway over bridge, Airport via Anuvrat via Canal Sarthana Octroi post, Dumas to Lambe Hanuman road GSRTC depot and Railway station to Sachin GIDC.
