Narmada dam height:Gujarat has paid 43 crore to Maharashtra,given 125 ha land for rehabilitation

The Gujarat government has allocated about 125 ha land in Gujarat’s Nijhar taluka for rehabilitation of Maharashtra’s 90 people affected by construction of Sardar Sarovar dam.
Water resources minister of Gujarat, Shri Babubhai Bokhiria shared this detail in the assembly today during question hour, in reply to a question.
He said the state government has paid Rs 43 crore to Maharashtra government in year 2009-10 for rehabilitation works of those affected.
He said the state government has requested Narmada Control Authority to grant permission to raise the height of Sardar Sarovar dam. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi also met the Prime Minister on 6 February 2013 and demanded same.
