In pictures: For the first time GSRTC inducts women conductors

For the first time, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) today inducted women bus conductors, in a function organized at Gandhinagar ST bus depot in presence of state transport minister Shri Nitin Patel.
GSRTC has created 284 posts for women conductors recently. Appointment letters to 181 selected women were presented today morning.Women conductors are posted near their native places to enable them to discharge duties at work and home smoothly.
The Corporation had received nearly 1,350 applications in response to an advertisement for filling 284 posts of women conductors.
Each woman conductor will be paid Rs 5300 fix payment per month for five years. They will not get any increment or DA, wage board, medical, pension, bonus, LTC, encashment of leave etc. They will however get overtime in ratio of fix wages. Women conductors will get weekly, public holidays. They will also get pregnancy leave as per the rule. After completion of two years job, their services will be reviewed. After five years of service the will be appointed as regular employee.
