AMC to regularize 5200 daily wagers in phased manner

In a Holi/Dhuleti gift of sorts to its 5200 odd daily wager workers, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today decided to regularize their services as grade 4 employees in a phase wise manner.

Mayor Gautambhai Shah said that the standing committee of the municipal body today approved the concerned proposal.

‘The regularization process will be completed in four calendar years with 1300 daily wagers each year. The basis of early selection will be seniority as well as better performance including promptness in attendance and completing the duty assigned,’ he said adding that the process will begin from next year i e 2017.

‘The benefit of regularization scheme will also be given to the daily wager workers of various hospitals run by the AMC including the V S hospital in the city. Thrust will be given on the performance appraisal of such workers for their early selection for regularization,’ he said.
