Ten nabbed for pelting stones at Devgarh Baria police during raid on illegal slaughterhouse

Dahod: The police have nabbed 10 stone pelters in connection with a case involving the stone pelting on the Devgarh Baria police during a raid on an illegal slaughterhouse being run in a house in the Kapdi area here.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when around 50 police personnel were carrying out a raid on the illegal slaughterhouse. After the raid, a mob pelted stones at the police officers, resulting in one officer being injured and several vehicles being damaged due to the stone pelting.
Providing details about the operation, the Superintendent of Police for Dahod district stated that the Devgadh Baria Police station received information about an illegal slaughterhouse operating in a house in the Kapdi locality. Acting on the tip-off, Devgarh Baria ASI Solanki and his team conducted a raid, confiscating about 5kg of beef and rescuing 5 cows from the location. Following the operation, the police were attacked by a mob and stones were thrown at them. One of the police officers on a motorcycle was injured. Subsequently, the in-charge SP Sidharth, LCB PI, and SOG PI conducted a combing operation, leading to the nabbing of 10 individuals involved in the case.
An FIR was lodged and the accused have been booked for rioting, attempted murder, and other offences under the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. Additionally, the Gujarat Animal Preservation Amendment Act has been invoked against the accused. DeshGujarat
