Ahmedabad to have 2,000 AI-Enabled CCTV Cameras

Ahmedabad: In a standing committee meeting held on Thursday, it was decided to install 2,000 AI-enabled CCTV cameras in newly incorporated and other areas of the city, with the project set to begin soon.
Devang Dani, Chairman of the Standing Committee, said, “More than 5,500 CCTV cameras are connected to the command and control center of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. To further strengthen this network, a tender has been issued for the installation of an additional 2,000 CCTV cameras across Ahmedabad city. These cameras will be equipped with AI technology and will be installed within the next six to eight months. Additionally, 16 body-worn cameras have been provided to food inspectors in Ahmedabad city, who will use them during food inspections.”
Dani also announced that draft approvals have been granted for 11 to 12 town planning (TP) schemes in areas including Chiloda, Naroda, Hebatpur, Bhadaj, Ognaj, Lambha, Sarkhej, and Ghuma. Surveys will be conducted in these TP scheme areas to ensure residents have access to essential services such as drainage, water, and stormwater lines. DeshGujarat
