PM Modi to Launch ₹1,063-Crore GIDC Projects in Bharuch, Valsad on June 5

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on June 5, 2026, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹18,777 crore jointly undertaken by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat from Surat.

Among the major projects are eight Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) initiatives worth ₹1,063.43 crore, aimed at accelerating industrial growth in South Gujarat. Of these, projects worth more than ₹894 crore are located in Bharuch, while projects worth ₹169.3 crore are in Valsad. The initiatives are expected to strengthen industrial infrastructure, effluent disposal systems and drainage management across the region.

Prime Minister to Inaugurate Six GIDC Projects Worth Over ₹894 Crore in Bharuch

Gujarat has remained a key driver of India’s industrial growth, with Bharuch emerging as a major centre for the chemical and petrochemical sectors. To further enhance the district’s industrial capabilities, the Prime Minister will inaugurate six GIDC projects worth over ₹894 crore.

A major project in the Dahej PCPIR industrial cluster is the construction of a 90 MLD offshore and onshore effluent disposal pipeline connecting the Saykha Pumping Station to the Dahej landfall point. The project includes the design, erection, testing and commissioning of civil structures, electro-mechanical systems and PLC-SCADA infrastructure, along with five years of operation and maintenance. Developed at a cost of ₹474.61 crore, the project is expected to significantly strengthen effluent disposal and management in the Dahej and Saykha industrial areas.

Infrastructure development in the Dahej PCPIR region has been undertaken to support chemical, textile, pharmaceutical, dyes and intermediates, and engineering industries. More than 1,000 industrial units are currently operational in the area.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate infrastructure facilities developed at the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar, Bharuch district. Built at a cost of ₹274.96 crore, the project includes roads, a stormwater drainage network and a central drain designed to meet the requirements of pharmaceutical industries, thereby accelerating the park’s development.
