Gujarat Continues to Reel Under Intense Heat as Daytime Temperatures Touch 44.3°C

Ahmedabad: People continued to experience scorching summer heat across several parts of Gujarat on Tuesday, with inland regions recording maximum temperatures above normal levels. Surendranagar emerged as the hottest location in the state, registering a scorching 44.3°C, which was 1.9°C above normal, according to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday morning.
Among major cities, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 43.2°C, 1.3°C above normal, while Gandhinagar touched 42.8°C, exceeding the seasonal average by 1.1°C. Rajkot also remained under intense heat at 42.7°C, nearly 1.9°C above normal, while Bhavnagar recorded 42.2°C, around 2.1°C above normal.
Other parts of north and central Gujarat also experienced intense daytime heat. Amreli registered 41.7°C, Deesa recorded 41.2°C, and Vadodara saw a maximum temperature of 40.4°C.
In contrast, coastal regions witnessed comparatively lower temperatures due to the influence of humidity and sea breeze. Surat recorded 35.7°C, Dwarka registered 33.3°C, while Veraval and Porbandar reported 34.1°C and 35.1°C, respectively.
Morning relative humidity remained high in several coastal areas, including Okha (81%), Dwarka (78%), and Veraval (78%), indicating humid conditions along the coast.
Meteorologists expect hot conditions to persist in several interior parts of Gujarat over the next two days, while coastal regions are likely to continue experiencing warm and humid weather. After that, some pre-monsoon activity is expected, with rainfall forecast in parts of the state. DeshGujarat
