Domestic LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹29; New Rates Effective from Midnight

New Delhi: Domestic LPG cylinder prices have been increased by ₹29, with the revised rates coming into effect from midnight on Saturday.

Following the hike, the price of a 14.2-kg household LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹913 to ₹942. In some regions, the retail price has increased from around ₹918 to ₹947, depending on local taxes and transportation costs.

This is the second increase in domestic LPG prices within three months. Earlier, on March 7, the price of a household cylinder was raised by ₹60. With the latest revision, domestic LPG cylinders have become ₹89 costlier over the past three months.

State-owned oil marketing companies said the increase was necessitated by higher global energy costs and continued losses on the sale of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders. According to industry estimates, oil companies were incurring a loss of around ₹703 per household cylinder, and the latest hike will only partially offset those losses.

The government had last increased domestic LPG prices by ₹50 on April 8, 2025. Separately, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was raised by up to ₹31 on March 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, the price of the 5-kg domestic LPG cylinder has also been increased by ₹11, taking its retail price to ₹821.50.

The latest hike is expected to add to household expenses at a time when consumers are already facing rising costs across several essential commodities.
