Inside Glimpses of Science Express at Ahmedabad(Video)

Science Express, a project of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is a state of the art exhibition on a train traveling about 15,000 km and covering 57 cities across the country. At each of the halts students and general public visit the exhibition.

On 24th of April, Science Express arrived in Ahmedabad for five days. Chief minister shri Narendra Modi was present on this occasion. In his speech he demanded to give this train permanently to Gujarat after it’s all India journey end in next June. He intended to put this train in Ahmedabad’s science city as a permanent feature.

Central government’s senior official from department of science and technology shri Chandra Mohan on this occasion said in his speech that this train had so far traveled 14 states but in no single state any chief minister visited it. It is the Gujarat where chief minister has shown interest in science and he has come here. This is remarkable.

After inauguration session, Narendra Modi visited Science Express for more than half an hour. He looked at each project and component of exhibition with deep interest. Some scientists who witnessed this later on said to us journalists that Modi’s curiosity and genuine interests were matching to that of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Ahmedabad is 46th city stoppage of Science Express. From Ahmedabad Science Express will travel to Ratlam. Science Express with it’s 4000 meter long 16 coach air condition exhibition full of 150 videos and 300 large size panels, will complete it’s journey in next June after 57 cities, 217 days and 15,000 kms of traveling across India. Later on Science Express train may be converted into a steady museum or this project may get a re-start on the trail of small cities of India that are left in first round.
