Major fire in Jamnagar’s Subhash Market on Diwali night

A major fire broke out in 150 year old historical Subhash Market in Jamnagar on Diwali night.
The fire broke out in Subhash Market at around 11.55 in the night.
In a Brigade size Call around 20 fire tenders rushed to the spot and tried to douse the fire.
There was no report of any casualty or injury in the fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage was yet to be ascertained.However Local traders estimated Rs 65 to 70 lakh loss due to fire.
The entire area was cordoned off by the police to help the fire fighters bring the blaze under control.
Talking to DeshGujarat.Com, Jamnagar’s Chief Fire Officer Mr. Bishnoi said that all the wooden cabins and shops in central part of the round shaped historical Subhash market had been reduced to ashes. He said that fire was under control only after two and half hours continuous large scale fire fighting operation.
