Modi’s 1126 gifts to be auctioned for girl child education in Gujarat

With his commitment to contribute for the girl child education, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today deposited all the 1126 gifts received by him in to the Government-Tosha-Khana. Such gift-articals are publicly auctioned at different places; there is a special attraction in the people to participate in to the auctions and to contribute to the noble cause.
Modi has set example by organising the public auction of the gifts received by him since Nov-2001. The amount accumulated from the auctions comes in crores, Rs. 41841550/ are collected, it has formed a Nidhi that promotes girl child education in the State.
Outlining this, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri A.K.Sharma said, “Chief Minister had determined at the moment he assumed the reigns of power, that he would deposit the gifts received by him in to the Tosha-Khana, with the aim to promote girl child education. As many as 5743 articals, which include gold and silver Idols, artistic chariots, wrist watches, photo frames, traditional arms, mementos, traditional apparels, shawls and Paghdi, all have been already remitted.”
To encourage the girl child education, the Kanya Kelavani Nidhi is formed, people contribute from their hearts, and they donate generously in to the Nidhi. The Vidhya Lakshmi Bonds are offered to the girls at the time of their enrollment in to the school. It encourages the girls to complete their studies up to 7th standard and further extend the frontiers of knowledge.
