Ahmedabad based Gujarat Science City is going to launch a new IMAX 3D film CyberWorld in its IMAX 3D Theater on 6th Jan 2009. Science City has procured this film after paying around Rs. 50 lakh to the IMAX Corporation for one year rental rights.

The CyberWorld 3D is designed to take the visitors on a virtual tour of a futuristic art gallery led by a saucy synthetic guide, ‘Phig’. Through the gallery, visitors can travel through eight interactive exhibits featuring unusual and sometimes revolutionary uses of animation.

The 44 minutes film offers a visually fantastic glimpse into the 3D computer animation universe. As Phig begins the cyber tour, trouble soon arrives in the form of three wise-guy computer pests, Buzzed, Frazzled and Wired, who voraciously gobble up computer code and force Phig into a battle to save the gallery… and herself from total destruction.

“Lights! Camera! Action!”

That’s what you might normally hear when a director is filming a movie. A few very special films, however, do not use live action at all, or even big lights and fancy cameras. Instead, the films use a series of still pictures, like the kind you might draw in a sketchbook or on computer art pad, arranged one after the next with very small changes in each frame. When these images are seen very fast, one after the other, they seem to be moving. But of course, they’re not!

This is the beauty and mystery of the newly entered animated film for education as well as entertainment, and to explore the taste and flavour among the school and college students as well as the visitors, Gujarat Science City is launching a new film Cyber World in its IMAX 3D theatre from 6th January 2008.
