62 Police officers transferred:Rajkot, Surat get new top cops

In a major shake up, as many as 62 police officers including 47 IPS were promoted and transferred today in Gujarat.

Surat Police Commissioner Additional DGP M.S.Brar has been promoted as DG and transferred as made new commandant of Home Guards and Director of Civil Defence. Additional DGP S.S. Khandwawala has been promoted and transferred to the post of DGP Anti Corruption Bureau, Godhra riot Special Investigation Team(SIT) member, Joint Commissioner of Police, Ashish Bhatia has been transferred to the post of IG Law and Order Gandhinagar, another SIT member IGP Gita Johri has been transferred to the post of Rajkot Police Commissioner after getting promotion to the post of additional DGP. Additional DGP Deepak Swaroop additional DG has been transferred to the post of Commissioner of Police Surat.

Harikrishna Patel is new Banaskantha DSP. AnupamSinh Gehlot has been made new DSP of Patan district. Banaskantha’s DSP DN Patel is Rajkot Rural DSP, Raghvendra Vatsa is new DSP Bharuch, BS Jebalia is new DSP Vadodara Rural, Premvirsinh is new DSP Navsari, Maninadarsingh Pawar is new DSP Junagadh, Himanshu Shukla is new DSP Kheda.

Rajkot’s Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha has been transferred to the post of Additional DGP Law and Order. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner O P Mathur has been promoted as DG but retained on the same post. Rajkot range IG V V Rabari has been promoted as additional DGP and transferred to the post of additional DG crime at Gandhinagar. IG law and order Amitabh Pathak has been promoted as Additional DGP and appointed Additional DGP administration. Joint director police academy Karai F M Guard has been promoted as additional DGP and appointed Additional DGP training. Pramod Kumar has been promoted as additional DGP and would retain the same post. IG Surat Range Shivanand Jha has been promoted as additional DGP and retained there. DSP Bhavnagar Manoj Shashidhar has been appointed as new Range DIG Rajkot. Total 15 DYSPs are promoted including Chief Minister’s security officials T.R.More and G.D.Solanki who are promoted to newly created Superintendent of Police posts.
