One of the five Gujarati ministers in central cabinet, Shri Dinesh Trivedi on Monday said that there should be at least one full time doctor and one nurse in each and every village in the country. Trivedi said that, being a central minister for health, he intends to come with a bill on this in the parliament.
Trivedi, an MP from West Bengal’s Barackpore seat, elected on Trinamul Congress ticket, originally hails from Bidada village in Gujarat’s Kutch district. He was on two-day visit to Kutch after being elected in parliament.
Trivedi visited Bhuj’s GK general hospital where Kutch district Congress unit workers presented a memorandum demanding free treatment for those poor patients who don’t have BPL(Below Poverty Level) card. Congress workers in their brief talk to the minister also said the government of Gujarat is going to hand over GK hospital to Adani group. In such scenario, the government should ensure that, treatment to poor people don’t get commercialized.
