Surendranagar district’s Dasada is observing one-day strike today protesting illegal slaughter of holy cows.

On Gujarati new year morning when retired Police Sub Inspector Rahim Khan was on walk, he saw blood, flesh, seven bullocks and five cows in one street. As bovine slaughter is illegal in Gujarat, Rahim Khan called police. Police Sub Inspector(PSI) K.M. Patel and Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s local leader Chamanbhai Sindhav, Abhaysinh Jhala rushed to the place, but those involved in illegal act had fled.

Protesting such illegal activities and police’s inaction, Dasada is observing strike today.

The villagers on Friday rallied to Patadi Mamlatdar office and submitted a memorandum to Mamlatdar Niyatiben Utsav and also to PSI K.M.Patel demanding stringent and prompt action against those involve in the act.The villagers are also demanding permanent solution of such activities in the village. According to PSI K.M.Patel, one person of Ahmedabad has been arrested and will be produced in court.

  1. Gujarati Says:

We must praise Rahim Khan here. In spite of being muslim, he informed the police.

  2. Chirag Shah Says:

Gujarat Police should take immediate action and arrest culprits

  3. H Shah Says:

I agree with ‘Gujarati’ here. We should appreciate and encourage law abiding, kind hearted Muslims like Rahim Khan. Congressi policies like reservations for Muslims only encourage freeloaders and other such nuisance. There are many fair minded Muslims and gov policies should engage them instead.
