Not happy with the treatment and facilities provided by well-known international tour operator – SOTC during 15-day long premium South Africa tour, three families of Surat protested with roses adopting Gandhigiri at SOTC’s Ghoddod area office on Monday.
Protesting families of Girishchandra Vansiya and Kanjibhai Viradiya said that the promises given by the operator before the booking, were actually not fulfilled during the tour. Contrary to promise they had to bear dinner and lunch costs. The tour operator didn’t take them to Gold mine in Johannesburg as promised in package. Though cost of Manager cum Guide was mentioned in Rs 1,81000 fees, there was no guide present at Johannesburg airport. This resulted in one hour delay at Johannesburg airport. The hotel they were taken to was not booked in advance by the operator. Therefore it was full and couldn’t accommodate the tourist families.
Girishchandra Vansiya said he has complained SOTC head office about the mismanagement and mistreatment during the tour.
