Air India’s 250- seat November 11 Ahmedabad-Frankfurt flight, scheduled to depart at 2.30 am was canceled due to a single rat that was seen on board but couldn’t be caught. A flight was canceled because of single rat because according to the aviation rules, it can not take off in such case.
A rat was seen running around on board at 1 am. Even after five-hour attempts of about dozen strong ground staff, a rat couldn’t be caught. At around 7 in morning the flight was announced canceled.
The Aircraft was then sent for fumigation. The rat might have entered the aircraft from the cargo. Investigations are on.
Passengers were accommodated in a hotel nearby. However most of the passengers choose to go back to their home.
