Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the main 12 km event of Vadodara Marathon-2009 this Sunday. About 25,000 participants are likely to run in Vadodara Marathon-2009. In main 12 km event 4,568 people including Veteran athlete, Flying Sikh Milkha Sing, legendary cricketer Kapil Dev will participate. Indian cricket team members from Vadodara – brothers Yusuf and Irfan Pathan are the brand ambassadors for the event. Union minister of sports Dr MS Gill will attend the prize distribution ceremony and the musical evening scheduled in the evening will have singer Kunal Ganjawala who will perform with others at the event.

Traffic diversions will be made at various places in the city and entry of heavy vehicles on the route will be banned from 6.30am to 10.30am.
