Empty class room, thanks to farmers’ boycott agitation which paralyzed all class rooms of five primary schools
Farmers of five villages in Sanand belt today announced to halt their school-boycott and polio vaccination boycott agitations temporarily after meeting the district collector in Ahmedabad.
Sarpanchs of five villages Gokalpara, Hirapur, Bol, Shiyavada and Charal today met Ahmedabad’s district collector and sought permission to sit on indefinite fast from January 18th. However the collector politely requested the farmers to roll back their boycott of schools and also of polio drive. The collector of Ahmedabad also promised the farmers a personal visit to affected villages.
“Sarpanchs have also sought time for online representation to the Chief Minister. Till the visit of collector and representation to the CM, Sarpanchs have decided to stay away from the school boycott and polio drive boycott. However if government continues with land acquisition process, then we will intensify our agitation in second stage,” said Kamshibhai Patel, leader of agitation who was present in meeting between Collector and Sarpanchs.
