A prisoner who had jumped parole last year, surrendered back to police on his own after he accomplished his determined task to find his lost mother.

Banaskantha’s Kakrej taluka’s Raner village based Gandaji Haluji Thakor had killed his elder uncle before 11 years. He was then arrested and convicted after which the Deesa Court had sent him to prison for life.

Lodged in Mehsana sub-jail, Gandaji last year came to know from his sister that his mentally retired mother had left the house and was lost. Gandaji was worried about his mother. When Gandaji was released on 20-day parole on 11th of September last year, he decided to jump parole to find his mother. As he did not return to jail even after parole period was over, the police lodged a case against him.

After one and half year of search in this city and that town, Gandaji finally found his mother in Patan recently. Satisfied Gandaji handed over his mother to his sister and surrendered back himself on his own to police by returning back at Mehsana sub-jail. The police arrested Gandaji for offense of jumping parole early this week.

What to say about Gandaji? An honest son, and also an honest prisoner at the end.
