Porbandar has a garden reserved for women since 1949

While discussions on Women’s reservation bill are everywhere across the country, Gujarat’s Porbandar town has something reserved for women since since year 1949.
Porbandar’s Maharani Rupaliba garden is reserved only for women and children. Gents are not allowed to enter inside the garden. The garden was created on 7930 square meter land in year 1949 in last century. While Mehta group’s Sheth Nanji Kalidas Mehta had donated Rs 51000, then Saurashtra government had donated Rs 35000 for this garden which was set up at a cost of Rs 860000 in that time. The garden was dedicated to the women of Porbandar on 17th of August 1949, Janmashtami. From day one the entry of gents was banned. This practice has been continued till date.

I do feel that women deserve a reservation because their participation is vital and a required (must) for success in every sector of our society. Women should not be left out of the Parliament just because the rules of politics changed into a male-dominated game of muscle power and liquor distribution.
I really appreciate the BJP for pioneering and passing this reservation bill that is making it mandatory for qualified women to participate in enactment of laws. It highlights them as a responsible and a matured party committed to fair laws.
I don’t like the caste reservation nor the religious reservation because a person’s caste or religion is a man-made phenomenon and can be changed by their lifestyle, whereas a gender is a nature’s work and a creation of humanity and should be respected and honored. Therefore in order to be in balance and harmony in society both gender’s participation is the key for any wise decision-making in framing of laws. For example take the Gujarat’s experiment of reservation of women in local bodies which has given marvelous results in accomplishment of tasks.
I also urge to pass the mandatory voting bill into a law on the lines of compulsory primary education in order to fulfill the positive ideals mentioned by Narendrabhai Modi into practicality.
Overall I see a very positive and bright future if we continue to adopt the ways of Hindutva.

ધન્યવાદ…ધન્યવાદ..ધન્યવાદ
Due to incursion of barbarians and forceful conversion from the male-dominated western societies that included the British imposed zamindari system, our society is turning into macho-ism and violence as seen in the Salman Khan, or Saifali Khan or Shahrukh Khan hitting innocent journalists in a short temper, or that Amir Khan beating up Gujarat’s all-beneficial Narmada project and completely insensitive to our Gujarati women folks who were compelled to travel miles for a few litres of water. You can see how the Bollywood degraded into a cheap skin industry with the entry of Khans and Imrans riding on underworld criminals.
Typically in a male-dominated societies, people stoop too low to cause mayhem and asuric vruttis as can been during British massacres and famines that wiped out millions, or the Australian racism, South Africa Aparthied, or America induced dictators around the world, or in naPak burquaas, or Chin troublemakers, which are primarily imprints of a Asuric male deficiencies.
It is no wonder that goondaraj Kangress defeated this bill earlier, and the goonda party like Mulayam and Laloo and Mayavati are opposing reservations for women tooth and nail, because they don’t want to respect the nature’s lesson of a male-female equal partnership in enactment of our laws. Voting rights alone does not guarantee the aspirations of the special-requirements for women (as allowed in Hindutva’s rich heritage). The Reservation seen in Porbandar is a classic example of freedom given to lives of women. We need to strive to get at least equal participation from women.
Had there been women’s reservation in Kaurava’s Hastinapur, there wouldn’t had been humiliation to women in a court. But after Pandavas came to power, and with Bhagvaan Shree Krishna’s message, our Maatru-pradhaan (Sanaatan Dharma) was restored to bring us in tune with harmony and peace. I see a great hope for rise of Hindutva (Integral Humanism) from this Women’s reservation bill.

Garden was inaugurated on janmasthami and, men are not allowed to enter ? I wish they would have choose a different day.
Congretulations to porbandar for having one of a kind ( women only ) garden & also being home to india’s first godmother (santokben jadeja)
I dont support reservations, may it be in any form.
To those who don’t favor women’s reservation in Parliament, think a little:
If you are an non-biased observer, this what you will experience in nature: only minority of women are found to be bad apples in a society as santokben or sonia, but in the actual crimes committed in a society, majority of them are men. Looking at the way things are going in the westernization of our present culture and the Khan based Bollywood, sadly we are slipping into a male chauvinist society and the violence and crimes are rising their ugly head against our freedom. Women reservation is a step to bring equality and equanimity in our governance.
Men in general are found to be more violent in societies, as can be seen in a male-dominated cultures of Christianity or Islam and the devastation they brought to Hindus (Hinduism is primarily the only matriarchal society in the world and perhaps the reason for Bhaarat being the only surviving civilization in the world!). Our survival is at stake and so women’s reservation is a correct direction.
Look at it this way, In any marriage role, there is 50% reservation for women
, therefore in a consensual-based law enactment process why shouldn’t they get at least 33% reservation when in fact they should be entitled for a 50% reservation in Parliament!
In Indian context, you would notice that criminalization and corruption in politics are male-dominated curse. Therefore when reservation for women was introduced for local bodies election, the levels of mis-governance/neglect has gone down significantly. It is because of this factual findings that we find reservation for women is correct step. And to realize our Hindutva, women’s parliamentary participation is a necessary condition. Therefore a mandatory reservation of power for them is a perfect solution for governance, just like a mandatory voting is the best solution for people’s accountability (aka. democracy).
During Bhagwan Shree Krishna’s transformation of our society into positive values, most of his team was reserved for women. It is said even Bhagwan Shiv (aka. Gopeshwar Mahadev) had to change his gender into a Gopi so as to be part of Krishna’s Love. We should not resist this (much needed) reservation so as to bring an end to the Lalu Mulayam supported goondaraj Kangress.
