Civic elections in six cities of Gujarat likely on 3 October

Six Municipal Corporation elections will be held on 3rd October this year according to sources in Election Commission of Gujarat.
3rd October is suitable date because of Sunday. The date is also convenient because it falls five days before Navratri.
The six Municipal Corporations are Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar.
The announcement of election date is likely to be made on 30th August, after which, the code of conduct will be effective.
