Mahatma’s statue vandalized in Bhuj,civic body files police complaint
Bhuj, 3 September, 2010

Some unidentified persons on Friday vandalized and damaged Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Gujarat’s Kutch district capital town Bhuj.
Located near Bhuj’s Hamirsar lake, the statue had historic importance.
Local government officials and other prominent citizens rushed to Hamirsar lake as soon as they came to know about the incident.
Bhuj’s civic authority has filed complaint against unidentified person/persons who performed this shameful act of vandalizing Mahatma Gandhi’s statue.
Police is investigating the issue.
