Naming of Surat’s 270 schools gets Limca book recognition

And now you would find Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s name in Limca book of records. Limca book is Indian version of Guinness book of world records.
Modi’s name will be mentioned in March 2011 edition of Limca book for a unique record of naming 270 schools on one day.
On last 30th May the Chief Minister visited Surat city to attend a programme of local school body and named 270 schools. The schools were earlier known by number.
According to Surat Municipal Corporation’s Scool Committee Chairman Rupin Pachchigar, the school committee was established in year 1925 but till May 30 this year, the schools were known by their number only. The schools are now named after historians, freedom fighters, philanthropists and others.
Pachchigar said, a communication has been received from Limca book of records, but the certificate of record will be received only after the book is published in March this year.
