Modhwadia can be called for questioning:state Police chief

Gujarat Police Chief DGP Chitranjan Singh today in a press statement clarified that there’s no political interference or influence associated with suspended IPS Sanjiv Bhatt’a arrest.

DGP Chitranjan Singh further said that presently police have not found any criminal role of Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia in this case. However if needed he will be called for questioning.

DGP pointed out that complainant constable Pant was taken to Arjun Modhwadia’s house, but he was not called by Modhwadia.

Meanwhile Modhwadia today told a local TV channel that if he is touched in Sanjiv Bhatt case, he will make the state government realize that what is law.

Bhatt didn’t respond to four summons

DGP Chitranjan Singh said that Bhatt was summoned four times to give his statement on FIR filed against him, however he didn’t appeared. Last summon was for 30th September, but he said he would not appear due to his appearance on that day before Nanavati commission. However police found that Bhatt was lying and went to his home to file his statement over the FIR against him lodged by constable Pant.

Five cases against Bhatt

Singh said there were five offenses registered against Bhatt so far. The list includes 1990 Jamjodhpur case of killing an accused, 1994 Porbandar case of giving electric shock to accused, 1996 Pali/Rajasthan case of framing an accused in wrongfully in narcotics case, 2011 Ghatlodia case in which he is in custody presently and 2011 Vastrapur case of hacking an e-mail of senior lawyer Shri Tushar Mehta.

Pant says no pressure, no influence, the complaint is genuine

A police constable who had filed complaint against Sanjiv Bhatt today interacted with media persons and said he had filed a case on his own without influence or pressure of any person. Pant said he had gone to Shirdi and therefore he was unavailable for some time.
