Ahmedabad, 26 November, 2011
On first day of IIM Ahmedabad Confluence 2011, read what Satish Pradhan, Executive Vice President, Tata Group said in his speech:
“We have very interesting phenomena. I differ to people like professor Barua and IIM Ahmedabad. You have this delightful event which is being happening for many years in business school campuses which I call annual Pushkar mela. You know Pushkar is near Ajmer and you have this cattle fair every year and the most important part is cattle auction where all the cattle are paraded in front of the potential buyers, and then you have to bid for it. And so we have something called the placement festival which is like the annual pushkar mela. And so obvious you got your eyes on that and there is a kind of momentum for that auction where you know everybody paints their horns red and you know gets into shape and looks most attractive to auctioneers. Is that a sensible way to go about it?”
