One of the best initiatives taken by the Gujarat government recently is the Vibrant Gujarat lecture series. First lecture of this series was delivered by eminent economist Professor Jagdish Bhagwati at Mahatma mandir in Gandhinagar.

Gujarat Chief Minister, his council of ministers, IAS officers were among those present in the function. Audio in this video captured by the government is not very clear. Hope the govt will next time organize and record the speech in a style of TED speeches.

Born 26 July 1934, prof Bhagwati is an Indian-American economist and professor of economics and law at Columbia University. He is well known for his research in international trade and for his advocacy of free trade.
