He started his speech with few Gujarati words: ‘Mane tamne mali ne khub ananda thayo.’

As Gujarat is witnessing a kite flying season, Kalam asked the youths present at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, ‘How many of you will fly?’

When overwhelming number of youths replied positively, Kalam asked them to repeat the lines:

I am born with potential. I am born with goodness
I am born with ideas and dreams.
I am born with greatness
I am born with confidence
I am born with wings
I am not meant for crawling
I have wings
I will fly
I will fly
I will fly

Kalam described Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi present on the same stage as his great friend.

Kalam said he was astonished to learn that this Mahatma mandir was constructed in 182 days. Kalam congratulated the Chief Minister and the people of Gujarat for this success.

Dr. Kalam picked Swami Vivekananda’s words, “How has all the knowledge in the world been gained but by the concentration of the powers of the mind? The world is ready to give up its secrets if we only know how to knock, how to give it the necessary blow. The strength and force of the blow come through concentration. There is no limit to the power of the human mind. The more concentrated it is, the more power is brought to bear on one point; that is the secret.”

Kalam suggested that the education system must develop this faith among the youth and youth adopt this faith in action.

He said, no youth today need to fear about the future. Ignited mind of the youth is the most powerful resource on the earth, above the earth and under the earth.

Kalam asked the youths, ‘How many of you want to become a unique personality?’

When almost all of the youths replied positively, Kalam said, “I have learnt that every youth wants to become a unique one, but the world all around you is doing best to make you just everybody else.”
