Gujarat Congress gets new President of women’s cell

Gujarat Congress today got a new President for its women’s cell in Mrs Sonal Patel Dutta who took charge in presence of Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia and other leaders at Gujarat Congress head quarter in Ahmedabad.

ATM security guard held for duping a senior citizen customer

Police today nabbed one Dalpat Solanki, security guard of Chandkheda area based State Bank of India’s ATM center for duping an old man Vinodbhai.

Vinodbhai, an old person couldn’t operate ATM own his own. Dalpat offered him help. In the name of helping Vinodbhai, Dalpat actully took Vinodbhai’s card and gave him a discarded card. Vinodbhai was not knowing this as he hardly cared for what was written on the card.

Recently when Vinodbhai came to ATM center and couldn’t operate it, he met the manager. The manager told him that his card was discarded and dead. When manager investigated, he came to know that Rs 93,000 were withrawn from Vinodbhai’s account without his knowledge. When police was contacted and CCTV footage was checked, police found that it was security man Dalpat Chauhan who had taken money from Vinodbhai’s account through operating Vinodbhai’s card.

Rs 40,000 cash, two mobile phones worth Rs 20,000, and Rs 30,000 which Dalpat had diposited in his own account from Vinodbhai’s account were recovered by police.

TV sets on roads, people blame high voltage responsible

A group of local people today afternoon gathered in Rajkot’s Raiyadhar area to protest high voltage power supply from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited(PGVCL) which damaged their Television sets, refrigerators, mobile phones and other electronics/electrical appliances. Locals came out in street demonstrating their damaged TV set thanks to sudden high voltage supply. One Ajitbhai told media persons that this is a locality of poor people and around 150 houses are affected due to high voltage. Police lathicharged the people who were sitting on road with their TV sets.

One more HIV affected child dead in Junagadh

One more HIV affected thalassemia patient child died today in Junagadh. This is second death of a child, who is believed to be a victim of alleged infected transfusion of HIV affected blood. Parents of more 21 such children are now worrying about health of their children. Junagadh’s Mayor met parents of victim child and demanded suspension of doctors of local government hospital responsible for HIV affected blood transfusion.

Partial relief to sealed party plots

Gujarat High Court today gave partial relief to sealed party plots of Ahmedabad and asked the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to open the seal of the party plots if they give undertaking that as per the Supreme Court order they will give away prescribed land and will not do construction there till then. Road size and plot size are mentioned in the order.
