Ahmedabad, 20 February 2012
One Bhanubhai Odedara has filed petition in the Gujarat High Court challenging Gujarat government’s 2006-07 decision to allot 3.78 lakh square meter land at a cost of Rs 340 per square meter to Raheja builders.
Odedara’s lawyer told the court that actuall rate of per square meter land was Rs 30,000 and thus the total value of land was Rs 1200 crore, but the state government gave this land to Raheja for Rs 79 lakh and thus the total amount of difference was Rs 1100 crore. The land was allotted to Raheja without issuing tenders, therefore the High Court should cancel this deal.
A bench of acting Chief Justice Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Justice JB Pardiwala will hear the case on Thursday.
