Jamkhambhalia court today rejected controversial suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt’ plea to pardon the delay in filing review petition in a 1990 murder case against him.
Bhatt’s lawyer IH Sayed however said they would be challenging the rejection of their condonation of delay plea in the Gujarat High Court soon.
The next hearing in the case has been scheduled on 28 February, when the court would decide on framing of charges against Bhatt.
This 1990 case is about one Prabhudas Vaishnani’s murder due to alleged torture by Bhatt and other policemen.
Vaishnani’s brother Amrutlal filed complaint against Bhatt and six others.
