Ahmedabad, 2 March, 2012
Gujarat BJP today said that the Congress part in the state has clearly shown its anti-tribal mentality by proposing no confidence motion against the young Speaker Shri Ganpatbhai Vasava.
In a statements issued here, President of party’s Schedule Tribal cell and Lok Sabha MP Shri Ramsinhbhai Rathwa said that Congress party has insulted Gujarat’s more than 75 lakh tribal brothers. While tribals are marching ahead towards progress, such postures of Congress would not be tolerated, he said.
He said the ST cell of BJP today submitted memorandums to collector offices in tribal districts. Tomorrow Mamlatdar offices will be reached for the same.
“When for the first time in the history of Gujarat assembly, an educated tribal leader has been made Speaker of the house unopposed, the Congress leaders Shaktisinh Gohil and Modhwadia dub him as junior and without skill,” he said.
“Under Congress rule, tribals were bound in votebank politics. Entire tribal community opposes Congress party’s plan to remove a tribal youth leader from the post of the Speaker in one voice,” the statement said.
