Proposal for assistance to Ahmedabad Metro rail pending in centre

The Gujarat government has requested the central government for assistance of at least 25% for Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro rail project.
“The government of Gujarat has forwarded the Detailed Project Report for Metro Rail between Ahmadabad and Gandhinagar for central assistance to the extent of at least 25% of total cost of the project,” minister of state in the ministry of Urban Development Shri Saugata Roy said in Rajya Sabha in a reply.
The Detailed Project Report was prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation LImited (DMRC) for Line No 1 : Akshardham – APMC Vasana, Line No 2 : Ahmedabad – Thaltej(also the DPR was prepared for Line No 1 : Barjedi – Ahmedabad – Kalol and Line No 2 : Ahmedabad – Naroda).
The minister informed that a special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Metro-link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) Company limited fully owned by the Government of Gujarat has been incorporated under the Companies Act,1956 with the authorized share capital of Rs. 200 crore.
The minister said that there’s no time limit fixed for the project.
