The horticulture department has designed swanky laaris or push-carts with inbuilt cold storage to vend vegetables. These push-carts can carry 125 kg vegetables. The cost of each push-cart is Rs 37,000 which is offered at Rs 22,000 to farmers. The state government offers a subsidy of Rs 15,000 for farmers who want to use this push-cart to vend their produce. The push-carts can carry 15-20 different kinds of vegetables. The cost of charging this push-cart for power is only Rs 15 for one time.
