Ahmedabad, 1 May, 2012
On foundation day of Gujarat state, Youth Congress and NSUI organized ‘right to employment’ rally in Ahmedabad’s Gujarat University hall in presence of thousands of youths. The rally was not free from Gujarat Congress’s ‘obsession’ with Narendra Modi. Before the session of speeches, a drama was acted on stage, with ‘Narendra Modi’ as lead character. Modi’s mask was used to create his character. Following are the major points raised during the speeches by the leaders in this rally:
-While inaugurating the Gujarat state, Shri Ravishankar Maharaj had advised politicians for simplicity, but the BJP government is spending huge money after fairs, celebrations and yatras.
-In Indulal Yagnik’s rallies, lakhs of people used to gather on their own, but today the collectors and district police chiefs bring people to events organized by BJP.
-Arjun Modhwadia said, “when I was a student in engineering college, tuition fee was Rs 200 and hostel fee was Rs 60. Moreover we used to get scholarship worth Rs 900. When Congress was in power in Gujarat, students could study paying negligible fees in granted colleges, but now even school admissions are not free from donations.
-The Gujarat High Court ordered to pay full salary to fix-pay employees working under the state govt, but instead of accepting the decision, the Gujarat govt prepares to go to the Supreme court against the verdict.
-Congress will provide facilities of hostel, education and affordable houses to poor people if come to power.
-90% posts of principal, 80% posts of professors are vacant in engineering colleges in this state.
-Petrol and diesel will be available at lower prices, if Congress come to power.
-Youths are employed on contract by the Gujarat govt. They are exploited through this way.
