Shree Bruhad Gujarat Sanskrit Parishad premises to be renovated

The premises of Shree Bruhad Gujarat Sanskrit Parishad, engaged in dissemination of Sanskrit language and its education in Gujarat will undergo the complete renovation shortly. This was decided in the executive committee meeting of Shree Bruhad Gujarat Sanskrit Parishad held on May 4, 2012 amidst august presence of the President and Retired Justice M.S.Parikh as well as the recently elected Chancellor Mr. Parimal Nathwani.
Mr. Nathwani in his formal address to the executive, talked of pride and prestige of the ancient Indian culture and the importance of Sanskrit language. He said that because of his association with the institutions of repute such as Dwarkadheesh Devasthan Samiti, Dwark Shardapeeth established by Adi Shankaracharyaji and Nathdwara Temple Board etc; he was determined to work for strengthening the cause of Sanskrit language and its education through Shree Bruhad Gujarat Sanskrit Parishad. He also declared his decision to remain available for the programmes of Parishad and contribute for the Parishad’s work. The members were overwhelmed with his announcements.
At the outset of the meeting, the Chief Secretary of the Parishad Prof. Sureshchandra Dave and Joint Secretary Mr. Ghanshyam Trivedi greeted the Chancellor and the President with flower bouquets. Pandit Dhanshankar Gaurishankar Vaidya, an aged Sanskrit scholar and erstwhile royal ayurved physician, who attended the executive committee meeting despite his overage, was also greeted by the Parishad. The annual report and accounts were presented for approval. During the meeting the budget estimates for the year 2012-13 were also presented before the executive committee. The Parishad‘s Rs 7.24 lakh deficit-budget with an estimated income of Rs 21.02 lakh and estimated expenditure of Rs. 28.26 lakh was approved.
The executive committee decided to reduce examination fees for the students keeping in View the price-inflation. At the same time, the executive committee also resolved to increase rewards for those engaged in dissemination of Sanskrit, revise honorarium for examiners and increase the discount on books.
The members volunteered their contribution to strengthen the Parishad and deliberated on various suggestions during the meeting. Shree Bruhad Gujarat Sanskrit Parishad, in the conclusion, specifically thanked the Chancellor for sparing his valuable time and making announcement of his contribution for strengthening the cause of Sanskrit language.
