Wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers from Sorath belt of Saurashtra are busy these days in counting of vultures in the cliffs of Girnar mountain. Vultures are on the verge of extinction in India. Girnar mountain, which is the highest mountain in Gujaratm, provides ideal place for vultures to nest.
Vultures living here are popularly known as Girnari gidh.
Two-day long counting drive of vultures is going on in entire Gujarat this week-end under the leadership of Forest department with the help of its ground staff and bird lovers.
