Narendra Modi to become BJP’s active member again tomorrow


Ahmedabad, 22 June 2012

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will again become an active member of Bharatiya Janata Party tomorrow at 10.00 am in Gandhinagar at his residence. With his active membership, Shri Modi will kick off the statewide membership drive of BJP in Gujarat. BJP’s sangathan parva in-charge Shri Bharat Pandya will remain present on this occasion.

Tomorrow, in south Gujarat, state BJP president RC Faldu will kick off the membership drive at Gandevi in Navsari district.

Similarly, national vice president of BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Parshottam Rupala will kick off the membership drive in north Gujarat, through an event organized in Sabarkantha district’s Bayad taluka’s Tenpur village.

In Saurashtra Shri Vijaybhai Rupani will kick off the drive at Rajkot BJP office.

In central Gujarat, state General Secretary of BJP and Lok Sabha MP Shri Balubhai Shukla will kick off the membership drive.

BJP’s state vice president Shri Kaushik Patel will kick off the drive in Ahmedabad.

Those who became primary member of the party in 2009 will not need to become primary member in 2012.

In 2009 24,17,084 primary members were registered. The latest 2012 membership drive targets to register 20% more members.

In 2009 there were 91,826 active members. This year’s goal is 1,00,000 plus active members.

Entire exercise will give extra booth power to Gujarat BJP, ahead of the assembly election which is likely to be held in December this year.
