Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath, Election Commissioner HS Brahma, Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi, Director General Akshaykumar Rout, Director Genera(election expenditure) PK Das will visit Ahmedabad on July 9 to galvanize the election machinery to get ready for the assembly polls and to check the preparedness.

Some details on their visit are now available to DeshGujarat.

The CEC and others will arrive in Ahmedabad in the evening on 8th July on two-day visit.

On 9th July the first meeting will be held with all political parties at 10.00 am, followed by a meeting with district collectors, DGP, district election officers, police commissioner, range IG/DIG, and SPs at 11.30 am.

The Commission would be meeting Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary(Home) and DGP at 5.00 pm and hold a press conference at 6.00 pm.

The term of Gujarat assembly expires on the January 17, 2013 and a new house has to be constituted before January 17.
