Free of cost child delivery, maternal care in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has implemented Gujarat government’s Janani Suraksha Yojana in its all hospitals and maternity homes.
This makes delivery in all AMC hospitals and nine maternity homes completely free.
The AMC will not charge anything for normal delivery, cesarean delivery, blood transfusion charges, incubator charges and other facilities.
Ambulance services too will be provided for free to carry pregnant ladies needing medical care to hospital, and dropping her back to home.

Great job by AMC. Its a great help and service to all mothers and families who cant afford this cost.
The first step to healthy nation is healthy baby and that can be achieved by schemes like these. Very proud to hear such facility is available to all citizen of Ahemdabad.
Steps like these will improve Human Safety Index and reduce infant mortality rate.

Death rate of baby & mother is not high among well to do families. They are able to afford excellent care either at home with medical professional or in private hospitals. May be there should be reasonable price control. Mother has every right to try for normal delivery in hospital or at home and have C-Section only in emergency situation. Great service. Vote for this government and you might see all taken care of. Very good step to bring more mothers to hospitals.
