Only 31.62% Kharif sowing so far, only 8% live water left in Saurashtra

Out of total 87.89 lakh ha average kharif crops cultivation area in Gujarat, only 27.82 lakh ha has witnessed sowing so far which come to 31.62% only.
Compare to average normal sowing, only 14% peddy, 16% Bajra, 17% Juvar, 40% corn, 24% Tuver, 7% Mag, 2% Math, 22% Adad, 42% Ground nut, 5% Tal, 39% Soybean, 49% Cotton, 30% Guar seed, 40% vegetables, 16% fodder sowing has happened so far in Gujarat.
Only 8% live water in Saurashtra reservoirs
Out of total 202 reservoirs in Gujarat, 14 have more than 31% water storage, 18 have 20-29% water, 26 have 11-19% water, 136 have less than 10% water.
Only Vanakbori reservoir has 96.03% water, while Sardar Sarovar has 78.31% water storage. 17 reservoirs in north Gujarat have 31.53% water.
Saurashtra’s 135 dams have only 8% live water storage at present.
