Police raid on gambling den: Congress MP’s son, seven others held

Ahmedabad district police’s Local Crime Branch(LCB) on Sunday arrested Congress Member of parliament (MP) Shri Somabhai Patel’s son and seven others in gambling case.
The police, acting on a tip-off raided a farm house near Thorimubarak village in Viramgam belt where Pramod alias Lalo Somabhai Koli Patel(42) son of Surendranagar MP Somabhai Patel, Hanif Usmanbhai Tai, Manish Jivanlal Thakkar, Hiren Harjivanbhai Mistry, Aiyub Anwarbhai Mandli, Baldev Lavjibhai Makwana, Harshad Kantilal Thakkar and Chhanabhai Mathurbhai Sarvaiya were caught red-handed while playing cards and using cash. Police seized an amount of Rs Rs 1.16 lakh cash, 8 mobile phones, two four-wheelers and four two-wheelers. Cases of gambling have been booked against them and they will produced in the court today.
